Mr. York has been performing independent semiconductor competitive and intellectual property consulting (either as an independent consultant or as a member of various independent consulting firms) since 1979.  No other consultant has the same unique combination of technical knowledge, hands-on analytical expertise, and patent litigation experience.

He has consulted for many different domestic and international law firms and well-known technology companies, and brings a personal level of commitment to each project and client. He has assisted major corporations in successfully building very lucrative patent licensing programs, transforming their patent portfolios into revenue-generating products.

Owner and Consultant - Provide independent expert semiconductor technology competitive research, litigation support, patent analysis, and specialized consulting services to semiconductor and intellectual property professionals.

CHIPWORKS USA (Acquired ICE), Scottsdale, AZ

Manager, Process Analysis - Independently directed and coordinated activities for laboratory analysis group. Performed hands-on competitive and patent infringement analysis of state-of-the art semiconductor and related products. Provided client and project management, daily coordination of actvities with parent office, and assisted with ISO 9000 organization.

ICE CORPORATION, Scottsdale, AZ

VP - Intellectual Property Analysis Services - Created and directed Intellectual Property (IP) Analysis group including operations, personnel management, marketing and sales, strategic planning and positioning, and technical management. Supported attorneys investigating infringement and prior art issues by identifying and documenting claimed elements on competitors’ products.

VP - Lab Analysis Services, Laboratory Manager - Developed strategic growth and direction of 11-person laboratory analysis department responsible for intellectual property analysis, competitive intelligence, reverse engineering, physical product analysis, internal publications development, and technical training support. Performed physical laboratory analysis and developed new analytical techniques. Served as customer liason, provided quotations, processed work requests, mangaged products, and reviewed final reports. Served as instructor for Laboratory Techniques portion of Failure Analysis Seminar. Developed new products, services and company website.

Analytical Engineer, Laboratory Analysts - Performed hands-on physical laboratory analysis and reverse engineering on semiconductor and related parts for patent and competitor analysis support.
